Last year, we ended the Winter Haiku on Feb 13th.

Who wants to take over for this spring?

What does the job entail?

Hi, same question as Diana, if I can help I will be delighted, but must consider the amount of time involved.

I want to participate, and I can be a back-up, but I wont have time to run the site.

Moreover, I'd like to take the time to apologize for being so vacant lately. I had streptococcal cellulitis in my left leg (bet you didnt know you can get strep anywhere but in your throat, did you?) that was so bad, it actually killed a little larger than quarter size spot of skin on my left calf. I was on IV's, anti-biotics and a plethora of pain killers, so I didnt have the desire to be on line very much. If you've ever had this, you know how painful it is, and you can understand why I was so short with some of the requests that came my way....Over and over again.

The longest time will be setting up the blog, so that's why it's good to start early. (4 to 6 hours)

The administrator has to select the template of the blog, the colors, the font, the number of postings seen per page, permissions, etc.

Then the administrator needs to collect all the email address, blog addresses, and emails.

Emails are needed to invite the poets and need to be entered one by one. (1/2 hour to 1 hour)

The poet list needs to be set up using HTML. I can send you a blank template and an example.
(1 to 2 hours)

Once the season starts, the administrator just needs to check the blog for spam and for indecent comments.
(daily)

There can be a co-administrator to help out with the beginning tasks and to receive an email with all the comments that are made.

Sounds horrible Steve, I hope things improve.

I'm not the most technically savvy person - maybe there's something I could do to support diana or Beatrice?

Steve, I am glad that you are feeling better. But please continue to take care of yourself!

One of my friends got a staph infection in her groin area last year and she was in pain for 4 weeks! Plus, she had limited sick days and had to go to work in that condition.

No worries. I can help the new administrators set up.

Unfortunately, given the above description, I am definitely the wrong woman for this job (way too right brain when it comes to sometimes even remembering how to do what I've already been taught on the computer - much less learning new technical tricks). Sorry. (And how's that for a run on?)

Keep looking after yourself Steve, that's one helluva thing you went through. I'm very impressed you were able to do this post. Start spoiling yourself rotten for the rest of the year, doctor's orders! ;-)

So.......what have we decided?

Beatrice and Pat are left.

Who wants to be the administrator?
co-administrator?

I will be around to help out with settings and permissions.

I could help with checking for spam and/or indecent comments - so long as I'm taught how to delete these should I find them.

(By the way, Steve, it was very kind of you to even consider having to apologize for infrequently posting when you've been so ill.)

I can set the blog up if no one else has signed up to do that - I may have technical questions.

Thanks

Thanks, Pat. Would you want me to help you with removing spam/indecent comments? If so, could you teach me how to do that? If not, is there anyone else reading this who could and would be willing to?

Hello, I just remembered to check out the replies here. Steve it is good news you are getting better, good wishes for a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, I am happy to co-administer the blog, I have set up my own blog before, including a team one, Eroticism in Art... at www.dreamchameleon.blogspot.com, so I am familiar with the layouts, adding links etc.. no problem there. Alan, do I understand you will be starting up the set up, or? Can we email directly, rather than having to find this post comments? my email info@owlnight.com. I will also email this to Steve now.
